Complete Bride was established in 1999 in the romantic town of Gretna Green famous for it’s runaway brides.
The head spinning world of the wedding industry is both exciting and rewarding. Meeting brides from all over the country and from around the world, as far as Dubai and Australia. Being part of a brides wedding day is such a pleasure and it’s important to make sure that every minute of the day is a memorable experience and that starts with getting ‘wedding ready’.
I started my career as a Beauty Therapist with a salon in Annan near Gretna and worked alongside a hairstylist. I launched a website in 1999 for Gretna Weddings and Bridal hair & Make-up. We visited hotels attending to Brides hair and make-up in Gretna and Gretna Green and loved every minute of it. I still adore the work that I do.
At Complete Bride, I work alongside other professional make-up artists to assist me during busy times and with larger bridal bookings. bookings and I also collaborate with other creative and professional hairstylists. So whether it be classic, romantic, boho or vintage styles, we will work with our brides to provide long lasting hair and make-up looks that our makes our brides feel beautiful on their big day.
Feeling good about yourself is key to feeling confident and beautiful on your wedding day. I like to create a relaxed atmosphere for you to enjoy your time with us as every minute of your wedding day should be a memorable experience that you piece together to look back on for many years to come.

Make-up Kit and Key Products

Make-up Artist
I feel as a make-up artist we have certain standards and expectations to have a decent selection of products and brands. When I open my kit. I want my brides to feel like their in good hands, with good products, that are specifically tailored to last the ‘duration of the occasion’. Wedding days are special and emotional. Happy tears, nervous tears, kissing, rain, wind, heat, sun, then came face masks! Don’t get me wrong, I have many make-up steals in my kit that I will never go without. Over the years I have collected, sampled, used, or discussed or tested a make-up product with various clients, and still haven’t found a mascara that beats ‘bourjois clubbing mascara for volume and length’. It’s my own personal favourite that I couldn’t live without.
My Make-up Kit
Primer is an absolute must to prep the skin for the rest of your make-up application for your foundation. My favourite just now is MAC PREP + PRIME. Lancôme Teint Idole Utlra Wear Foundation Sticks are another one of my favourite products in my kit for bridal make-up. Its silky texture applies seamlessly and blends effortlessly onto skin to provide a flawless complexion resulting in a second skin make-up look that does last up to 24 hours. It’s amazing at covering up imperfections as it’s a very buildable product and it lasts up to 24 hours!!!! Their available range of shades makes contouring blend perfectly and their blush colours too!!!

YSL makes numerous appearances in my kit with their Touché Eclat Illuminating pens that give a natural luminous finish, without glitter or shimmer. The product gives light and radiance to the face. Perfect for reducing dullness and to reduce fatigue. YSL concealers immediately conceal dark circles and uneven skin tone whilst brining light to the face.
There’s no wrong answer when it comes to your wedding eye make-up look. If you’re more of a natural make-up kind of gal, keep it minimal and effortless. If you don’t wear much make-up on a day to day basis, keep the eyes simple. Eye palettes are in abundance in my kit, for all preferred looks from natural to smokey to shimmer to dramatic. From winged liner to no liner. From lashes, to no lashes, it’s important you feel the most beautiful version of you so we cater for everyone.

Clinique Lipstick available from us!
Lipstick or Lipgloss ? Nude or Rouge? It really is a personal preference. Some like to go bold whilst others like to go with a hint of colour. I always advise brides to wear some type of colour on their lips as it’s important for your photographs. A good lip colour will really complete your entire look and bring it together. I have so many shades from stains to lipsticks to mattes to gloss that there’s a shade for everyone and you can also purchase a full lipstick or lip gloss to top up during the day or see our ‘good to glow collection’ which has miniatures of products for you to have with you throughout the day.
